Servery Hatch Now Meets Fire Regulations With New Fire Rated Roller Shutter.
We were approached by a client In Bournemouth who was making alternations to a village hall and required a serving hatch roller shutter to close off the kitchen area in case of a fire.
We worked closely with the client on their project to identify a number of specifications required. The customer’s main requirements were for the roller shutter to provide a minimum of a 1-hour burn rating, for there to be a manual override and for the roller shutter to be secure.
Dynamic Door Solutions Ltd provided a robust fire roller shutter with a 1-hour fire rating. The product provided ensured that the client could be confident that the kitchen area was secure when it was not in use along with provided protection to the building should a fire occur.

What are Fire Rated Shutters?
Fire-rated shutters are a motor-powered roller shutter which operates vertically across an opening. They are tested to a high specification to ensure that they meet all UK legislation and are available in a number of Fire Rated burn times.
Where should a Fire Shutter be Fitted?
Doorways in a business, whether this is commercial or retail should be fitted with fire doors. However, it is often the case that buildings have openings that are too wide to be considered a traditional doorway. For example service or serving hatches and lifts. Openings such as these can be easily fitted with a fire shutter or curtain which are automatically triggered in the event of a fire.
